I am very humble and thankful to my publisher, Oxford Fajar (of Oxford University Press) who have supported me from the initial inception through to the publication of Big Ideas SBA Reference Text Science for Form 1 (Year 7) and Form 2 (Year 8) titles.
The writing journey has been amazing experience. I'd like to thank science teachers who have given me valuable advice and innovative ideas throughout the writing/publishing process!
Both titles are written in English language, specifically cater for students whose English is not their first language. Instead of using heavy text with long sentences, I presented the facts in info-comics and info-graphics, with shorter and simpler sentences to help students read more easily and acquire knowledge and develop scientific understanding.
A science teacher from Tenby Private School (Setia Alam) commented that the content is user-friendly with great readability. She said that she can't wait to see the publication of the Form 3 (Year 9) title, where by the science topics in Form 3 are drier and more 'serious'.
I am very grateful to the science teachers from Sekolah Sri UCSI (Subang Jaya) who have spent an hour session with me to feedback some constructive comments on both titles. You guys are amazing teachers!
If you are a teacher who are using one of these books in your classroom as a core teaching material or supplementary resource, you're more than welcome to write to me and let me know what you think of it. I am open for constructive feedback :-)
If you are a student who is using one of these books for self-revision, you are also welcomed to write to me and tell me what you think of the approach of the content. I hope you like the Manga-style comic characters in the book.
Till then, happy teaching & learning science.
NOTE: SBA (School-based Assessment) is an English term for PBS (Pentaksiran Berasaskan Sekolah).
